Turning the humble road cone into a large lighting display

Road Cone Wonderland is a fun disco style light show. It’s like a low- resolution dance floor but made with the humble road cone. With the use of individual wireless uplights to illuminate every single road cone.

The road cones light up and move to the music as well as make cool shapes and patterns. Plug in your music and enjoy a party of sights and sounds and let us light your way.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The set up is really simple, each cone has a battery powered light under it. This is controlled wirelessly, so no cables.

In terms of installation, our team will set up the night before the event. We can train your local team in the set up and operation of the display. TheDisplay can be time-coded to songs or simply run as a long loop of random content.

The lights need to be charged in their cases before each nights display. There are 6 lights in each case. The control console needs power and needs to be in line of site to the display. The sound system is also battery and wireless.

The one drawback of the wireless and battery solution is they are easily stolen so please allow for someone to be around durning each display. Everything will be well labelled and systematic to make it easy to roll out for your team.

Power can either be a selection of 10 amp outlets, or if there is a three phase available we can supply a distro.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The road cone display is scalable to fit the space you are wanted to fill, so budget will depend on the number of road cones and if you want them for the whole period or just one of the weekends.

So let’s calculate it this way. The basic cost for us to make the thing happen, this covers our fee, delivery set up and pack out, training your guys etc. All the gear you need to run the shown (excluding cones and lights) $3500 plus GST.

Then per cone and light we charge $100 for a 3 day week. so 98 cones would be $9,800 for a week, $19,600 for two weeks. This gives you flexility around how many cones you want and for how long, depending on your budget.

Some side notes on budget. We are currently working with a cone manufacturer who makes cones from recycled materials and then recycles the cones. We are looking at some funding for telling this sustainability story. If we get some funds from this it would reduce your costs. Or alternately you might have an entity down there that might want to put some $$ in to help tell this story.
